30 Top Wedding Trends for 2013 - #1 The Statement Shoe

Happy New Year everybody!!!

Here at QB we thought we'd kick start the year with 30 top wedding trends to expect in 2013.

1. The Statement Shoe

The the colourful statement shoe is still making a splash – we received SO much love for our pink QB Spring 2012 cover shoes.

We've noticed that lots of our real life wedding brides are wearing statement shoes, including the lovely Alaina who used hot pink as an accent colour in her wedding with Mitchell.

For a bride who wants that snap of colour, or has found a shoe that just can't  be said 'no' to, a statement shoe can be the perfect way of fulfilling that desire.

One of the great things about statement shoes is that they can be the starting point of your wedding planning. Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the talk of themes? Are you losing your mind with the amount of flower varieties? Do you not have a particular colour in mind? Try a bit of retail therapy!

If you do find a shoe that you absolutely love, you might find that you can use that inspiration as a starting point to help decide some elements in your planning. You might find a great boot that inspires a bit of country flair, or a stiletto heel that makes you think of urban couture, my favourite at the moment are the adorable oxfords that come in many colours and heights.

And don't forget, the statement shoe works for our grooms as well as our brides!

For 2013 jewels and metallics are going to be big news, perhaps a shoe with a bit of shine will be right for you. For brides who are a bit DIY inclined, you find a simple shoe and jazz it up with a gorgeous brooch, you'll have something unique and you can always wear the brooch later!
