QB Loves : Angus and Leah.

When Angus and Leah recently uploaded their wedding photos and story via our online submission page, our jaws dropped watching the gorgeous images filter through, we felt we simply must feature this unique couple on the blog! Keep your eyes peeled as you will find them featured in the upcoming issue of Queensland Brides too!

Angus and Leah were kind enough to share their proposal story, funniest moments and special memories with us, enjoy!

Above: Leah looking elegant holding a vintage lace parasol, wearing pearls and delicate lace gloves.

Proposal Story
We  spent the day gardening (planting hedges actually), and we sat on the deck to have a glass of wine to end the day and marvel at our gardening skills when I felt Angus take my hand. I turned and asked him if we were going to dance? (the radio was on), he said 'no' and then promptly dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife.

Martini time!

A spot of air guitar!

The beautiful bridesmaids wearing Annabelle Brayley dresses in matching headbands and 50's inspired mismatched accessories!

The girls getting ready!

Love the stitcching featured on the interior fabric of Leah's clutch. Something to keep forever!

Angus & Leah. True love.

Special Memory
Angus is generally a very serious business man with long, stress filled days, so napkin colour and entree choices were not really of interest to him during the process of our wedding planning.

Something that was really special for me on the day was how he committed to the photos. We only had 45 minutes to get our group photos done and dusted and he was into it from the beginning; playing about, suggesting fun/stylish ideas and following directions of the photographer. He knew this short period of time was important to me and he committed like a professional. I was so proud of him.

Special Thanks
There were a set of six core women who brought our wedding to life. Six women who were all on the same page -'my page' - since the day we set our date.

They fielded phone calls from the bride such as 'I'd like to look like Jackie Kennedy - can you make that happen' or 'I'd like the formal invite to look like Wimbledon - do you think that's possible?' and my favourite 'Its a G and T event not a Pimms affair'.

Leeanne Hook printed paper for 6 months straight, Tina Kent gathered colour swatches in between raising her 1 year old, Annabelle Brayley turned a pink clutch into a burgundy clutch over night, Pat Nuttal sourced human sized paper roses amongst many other photo props.

My mother is just simply amazing at this sort of thing and Mickey McKellar pulled the entire thing together. They were the 'Dream Team'.

Funniest Moment
Angus whispering to me in the middle of our bridal waltz that the braces I had delivered to his hotel in the morning for him to wear were too short (He's 6ft 4) and that he has had 'Harry High Pants' all day at his own wedding!

Advice
We were advised to not have a break between church and reception and it worked like a treat.

After the ceremony, our guests walked around the block for aperitif and canapé at the club immediately. This left only a short amount of time for us and our group photos, but our guests felt very looked after and enjoyed the flow of the party and the excitement of the ceremony wasn't lost or broken.

People are still telling us now that they loved the way the party flowed 'all day long' and how generous the day was. This makes us and my family feel great!

My advice to brides is: Get married in the morning! You have the whole entire day with those you love.

Angus and I were in the company of our friends and family from 10am-midnight. It was a fabulous long lunch full of great food, fine wine, music and dancing - it was fantastic to have all this time and morning weddings are so old fashioned and traditional. We loved it!
